Hack Your Memory
Stop wasting time "re-reading" notes. Use the algorithm that guarantees long-term retention.
The Forgetting Curve
In 1885, Hermann Ebbinghaus proved a depressing fact: we forget 50% of what we learn within 24 hours. By day 2, we remember only 30%.
Most students try to fight this by "cramming" right before the exam. This puts information into short-term memory, which evaporates instantly after the test.
The Revision Planner breaks this cycle. By reviewing at specific intervals (when you are 90% likely to still remember), you send a signal to your brain: "This information is important, keep it."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spaced Repetition?
Spaced repetition is a learning technique where you review material at increasing intervals (e.g., 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks). This exploits the psychological 'spacing effect' to dramatically improve long-term memory retention compared to cramming.
How does the Forgetting Curve work?
Hermann Ebbinghaus discovered that we forget ~50% of new information within 24 hours and ~70% within a week. However, if you review the information just as you are about to forget it, you reset the curve, and the memory decay becomes much slower. This tool automates that timing for you.
What intervals does this planner use?
This tool uses the scientifically standard intervals: Day 1 (Next Day), Day 3, Day 7, Day 14, and Day 28. This sequence is optimized for academic material.
Can I archive topics I no longer need?
Yes! Use the 'Archive' button (box icon) to hide topics from your active view without deleting their data. This is perfect for when you have finished a module or exam.
How do I use the Mastery Score?
Your Mastery Score (top left) calculates the percentage of scheduled reviews you have actually completed. Aim for 80%+ to ensure you are sticking to the system and maximizing retention.
Does this work for all subjects?
Yes, spaced repetition works for any subject requiring memory recall, including languages, medicine, history, law, and sciences. It is less effective for pure skill-based practice (like math problems), but still useful for remembering formulas.
Is my data saved?
Yes, everything is saved locally in your browser. You can close the tab and come back later. We also recommend using the 'Export Data' button regularly to keep a backup.
What happens if I miss a review day?
The planner will mark it as 'Overdue' (Red). You should do it as soon as possible. While not ideal, doing a review a day late is much better than skipping it entirely.
Is this tool free?
Yes, the Revision Planner is 100% free and open for all students.
Can I add multiple subjects?
Absolutely. We recommend adding the Subject Name (e.g., 'Biology') for each topic so you can easily scan your list.
